What crochet projects are you working on lately?
One of the joys of winter, in my opinion (and there aren’t many) is pulling out my tubs of yarn and blowing the dust off my crochet hooks. Winter is when I get to use my extra large hooks and overly bulky yarn. I love it!! It’s not that I don’t crochet in the summer. I do. However my motivation is altogether different. Who wants to sit with a bulky yarn project on their lap in the 90 degree heat?!
My recent projects have included a doggie sweater for our 3-month-old Shih Tzu, Belle, hooded cowls for my mother and myself, a skinny scarf in our high school’s colors, and more recently neck warmers. Oh yeah, I also made three pair of fingerless gloves and a pair of boot cuffs. Looking back on the list of projects, I guess I have made quite a lot this winter. I have not made any hats, wich is totally the opposite of what I expected. Last winter I was all about the hats. Interests change, I guess, and fortunately there are more than enough project ideas to keep this crocheter happy (and busy)!
How about you?
What projects have you been working on? What are your favorite items to make? Where do you buy your yarn, and what are your favorite brands and types? I would love to hear from you, so please post a response!
Until next time,

I am almost ashamed to admit how much I will use this!
Just felt the need to prove I can make something other than hats! LOL
Dr Speer, a beautiful patient, and and one of Laura’s Lids
Laura’s Lids have crossed state lines! I sent 8 beanies to my friend, who is an oncologist, in Albany, GA. She just sent this picture this morning. Hopefully I will be able to post pictures of some of the recipients in the “lids”. THIS is why I resumed crochet!
Newborn beanie, baby beanie, “tweenie” children’s beanie, and a few others!
